Nothing brings a book to life like hearing it read by the author...especially one with a strong public speaking background. But Rusty Wilson's speaking engagements are more than readings. Much of his material is drawn from the book and newspaper columns he wrote in Iraq, but he also includes stories and characters not mentioned there, and the addition of more than 250 photos and graphics makes the message more real, more immediate, and more personal than any reading. The question and answer sessions assure that audiences can get answers to their questions, and not just the information an editor or newsreader chooses.

is based on Rusty Wilson's first hand experience while supporting American soldiers as a civilian Morale, Welfare, and Recreation staffer in Iraq. His work put him into daily contact with literally thousands of soldiers and other civilian workers. What he learned from them during his five months in Iraq, plus his own observations and insights, tell a unique story and give a sense of life in a war zone unlike any you've heard.

This talk and the accompanying visual presentation paint a picture that goes far beyond sound bytes and two minute news stories. Some of it is funny, some of it is sad, all of it is enlightening and thought provoking.
gives a non-partisan and completely original perspective on the war and the situation in Iraq.

"The title says it all; this is information you can't get anywhere else, well told and well organized. The vivid slides brought the whole topic to life. Outstanding."

"Excellent presentation...crisp, professional...evenhanded, and did not devolve into partisan posturing. The use of PowerPoint was the best I have ever seen; slides were perfectly integrated. The Q&A and personal stories... added greatly to the entire presentation."
